Have you ever think the time when Facebook has not yet
launch and Friendster eats up some of your time connecting with your friends?
Well this article will face again the new face of Friendster now and look back how it
transform from Social networking site to social gaming website.
I remember the time that everyone wants to have an account
in Friendster (FS). Those were times that you need to find your long lost classmates,
friends, cousins, and persons you want to know more about him/her.
Though I would say that Facebook is a late bloomer in the
Philippines, until now many Filipinos are still addicted and supporting this
great innovation of Mark Zuckerberg. It
has been launched way back 2004, that time many Filipinos still prefer to use Friendster
due to its complexity. For the benefit of knowing who the founder of FS is, he is
Jonathan Abram.
At first Friendster rocks netizens because of its easy to
use and navigate pages. It gives you a normal views and use of current
facebook.
Lately, Friendster became a social gaming website. Now it is
based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia being owned by MOL Global that has been operates
in Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines. Its re launched makes it more promising
that gains over 115 million users according to Wikipedia. And recently last
year it was recognized as one of the hottest Silicon Valley Companies.
Here’s trivia information from Wikipedia.com on the Site
Transformation
In June 2011, Friendster shifted from social networking
site to a social entertainment site which focuses on gaming and entertainment.
The accounts are unchanged and still existing. However, all the photos, messages,
comments, testimonials, shoutouts, blogs, forums and groups that the users may
have had in the past may no longer be part of their Friendster account. An exporting tool is provided to back up the
information of the user account. This tool has an ability to export photos to
Flickr and Multiply. For other details please click here .
Now that Friendster creates new trends for social
entertainment website, it’s about time to try it for the second time and enjoy
the entertainment of gaming.
